Sequoia Room Cleaning Instructions:

Tools & Supplies:

Cleaning tools are stored in the storage room next to the entrance of the Sequoia Room. Extra supplies are available in Storage 2B.

  • Spider web duster
  • Swiffer Dusters
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Brooms and dustpans
  • Easy Mops
  • Upper-area bucket
  • Lower-area bucket
  • Mop bucket
  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Window cleaner
  • Paper towels
  • Pink towels (for upper areas)
  • Orange towels (for lower areas)
  • Easy Mops
  • Disposable gloves

NOTE:

Pink towels (upper areas), orange towels (lower areas), and mop heads (floors) are collected once a month for washing.
After completing the monthly cleaning Gohoshi, please bring them back to the Center and place them in the baskets labeled “Pink Towels”, “Orange Towels” and “Mops”.

Step 1: Upper Areas

Use pink towels and paper towels only.

  1. Remove cobwebs from the ceiling using the spider web duster.
  2. Use Swiffer Dusters to dust the window blinds.
  3. Clean the windows with window cleaner and paper towels.
  4. Fill the upper-area bucket with water and add all-purpose cleaner.
  5. Dampen the pink towels in the cleaning solution and wipe the following upper areas:
    • Desks
    • Doors
    • Walls
    • Window frames
    • Windowsills
    • Podium
    • Chairs (backrest, seat and armrests)
  1. Use paper towels to clean:
  • Trash cans
  • Water dispenser

Step 2: Lower Areas & Floor

  1. Fill the lower-area bucket with water and add a small amount of all-purpose cleaner.
  2. Dampen the orange towels in the cleaning solution and wipe the following lower areas:
    • Chairs (legs and lower frames)
    • Wall baseboards
  3. Sweep all hard floors, including the stage, using the broom and dustpan.
  4. Vacuum the carpet inside the side entrance.
  5. Fill the mop bucket with water and add a small amount of all-purpose cleaner.
  6. Mop all hard floors using damp, well-wrung Easy Mops.

Step 3: Wrap Up

  1. Clean and rinse all tools, beginning with the upper-area cleaning tools.
  2. Empty and collect trash from all trash cans.
  3. Refill supplies as needed, including:
  • Paper towels
  • Trash bags
  • Disposable gloves
  • Swiffer Duster refills
  1. Place all used pink towels, orange towels, and mop heads in the designated baskets at the Center.
  2. Wash your hands.
